← Back to lettersOn Sunday, February 6th, around eight o’clock in the evening, I was returning home from Casilda de Bustos where I had spent the evening with some friends. Night had fallen, and I was driving with my headlights on towards Aluche district C where my home is located. Suddenly, something abruptly caught my attention; at first, I thought it was a helicopter but this impression was brief because, unless I am mistaken, the rotors of such an aircraft are not usually lit. It was a white disc, whose color changed as it began to turn; it became yellow then orange as it approached (it is possible that the order of the colors I indicate is not exact but that is how I remember them). I had stopped my vehicle and gotten out to observe this mysterious craft. I admit that I was convinced it was a helicopter; I did not imagine for a moment that I was in the presence of one of those “flying discs” so often mentioned in the press.
The craft continued on its path toward me and I had the impression it was moving very quickly (I will not venture an estimate of its speed since I am not an expert on the matter). Soon it reached the zenith, almost above my head; it was then at a great altitude and I had the impression that its diameter was about the size of a car steering wheel. It was moving along an axis perpendicular to the road leading to the Aero Club. At that moment, I looked around; about ten meters from where I was, I spotted a man (whom I first took from a distance for a young girl) who was also watching the sky.
When I fixed my gaze again on the strange craft, I noticed it was descending toward the ground in the direction of an area very close to me. This maneuver initially puzzled me but at that moment I felt no fear because this landing, strange as the craft was, seemed logical since everything that flies eventually lands on the ground. To understand my initial reaction, one must remember that the grounds of a well-known Aero Club are located near the site of the event; therefore, a priori, there was nothing extraordinary about the craft I was observing being a new prototype airplane undergoing tests.
Driven by the desire to satisfy my curiosity so suddenly and strongly aroused, I got back into my car and started driving toward the place where I supposed the landing would take place. To reach it faster, I took a small road that leaves the main artery where I was and leads directly to the airfield. After only a few hundred meters on this road, I had to brake sharply because just in front of me, the huge disc was rising into the sky. This term I have just used exactly expresses the impression I had at that moment. I had not imagined that the craft could be so large. Thus, I estimate its diameter to be 10 or 12 meters. This vision shocked me so much that for a few moments, I was left with a dry mouth and unable to utter a single word. In fact, it was not the impressive size of the craft but the disturbing brightness it emitted that frightened me. To some extent, it can be compared to the glow of fluorescent paints used in road signage; but in reality, it was much brighter and could only have been produced by the craft itself since it was not lit by converging beams from car headlights.
The flying object emitted a faint hum that made me think of
On 29/04/18, I witnessed a phenomenon stemming from the turbines of electrical generator units that I had seen shortly before in a power plant in the province of Jaén. The upward movement of the device occurred in a perfectly regular manner and at a dizzying speed. I literally jumped out of my car to better observe the phenomenon, but I must admit that my legs struggled to support me as they were trembling. I am convinced that the violent shock I felt prevented me from noting all the details: I was truly in a state close to hallucination. It is pointless for you to ask me about the exact shape of the object in question, whether it had doors, windows, or what auxiliary equipment it was equipped with. My attention was only drawn to one particular aspect (besides the landing supports - or struts - I have already described): at the center of the underside of the disk (the 'belly' if you prefer), there was a tube or exhaust pipe, whose irregular shape can be roughly likened (but I don’t assert this) to a straight line placed between two parentheses opening outward. I can swear that it was not a star, for it appeared as a black and opaque spot whose contours stood out sharply against the luminous mass of the whole. As I have already mentioned, the vehicle was equipped, also on its lower part, with three large supports that were surely fixed at points corresponding to the vertices of an equilateral triangle. I believe this observation is accurate as reporters from the Informaciones newspaper, along with many witnesses, claimed to have seen equally spaced tracks on the ground approximately six meters apart (Informaciones from February 9, 1966). The base of each of these supports was shaped like a small rectangle or square, also luminous. I believe I could produce several different sketches to represent these three landing struts, and I would be careful not to assert that any one of them is in accordance with reality. I must also mention another image that I have retained in memory regarding the overall appearance of this flying device; although I am no longer so certain of its accuracy, I find it useful to inform you of it. When I looked at it, I had the impression that it had the shape of a sort of triangle with curvilinear sides. Is this just an optical illusion caused by the presence of the three supports between the mass of the object and myself, whose relief created a break in perspective? Was the contour of the craft perfectly circular? My current inability to take a stance may lead you to doubt my testimony and consider that my account is entirely fabricated. But since you have asked me to provide a as detailed a description of this event as possible, I prefer to be sincere rather than indulge in fantasy to fill the gaps in my memory. I attach to this letter a sketch of the device; I drew it from memory and cannot guarantee its complete accuracy. When someone asked me if the craft had a dome, I replied that I hadn’t seen one, not omitting to specify frankly that I had not had the opportunity to observe the upper side of the object for long. I can assert without any hesitation that the brightness I mentioned earlier was indeed orange. I also have the certainty that this fluorescence had a very different origin than that emitted by a glowing body. The device rose into the air and, to my great surprise, it disappeared as if it had suddenly 'turned off.' I have little left to add to complete this account. I ran towards a nearby house, which I later learned from the press was the El Relajal farm. A man (who the Informaciones presented as the husband of Mrs. Herminia Pelaez Blanco) listened to my disconnected explanations. At that time, I was unaware that other people had witnessed the strange phenomenon. Moments after the craft ascended, I ventured, despite my fear, to look around. I only saw a white Renault whose occupants (a couple of fiancés) claimed they saw nothing. A little further away, there was another vehicle around which two mechanics were working; the two men had moved away from the spot by the time I arrived (the journalist sent by Informaciones reported to me a story about them that was so romantic and strange that I couldn’t believe it was true). What is my opinion on this event? From the start, I realized it could not have been a helicopter; I also thought it wasn't a meteorite. As you know, this latter hypothesis was suggested by a fake 'expert' in a newspaper article. As for me, I am certain that this theory is false unless I was a victim of a hallucination. But in that case, how can we explain the other testimonies similar to mine? That said, from there to conclude that this vehicle came from interstellar spaces, there is a long way! I must acknowledge that since that moment, my mind has been in complete confusion, especially since I do not have all the evaluative elements that could allow me to attribute real significance to the phenomenon. Moreover, it should not be forgotten that the Aero Club is nearby, even though airport authorities have categorically stated that it could not be a craft from their base. I will add that, some time later, I received a visit from an aviation officer who declared to me that he had also witnessed the mysterious landing and he acknowledged that he ...
On 29/04/18, I was unable to determine the exact nature of the device. Finally, we must not dismiss a priori the hypothesis that it could have been a test flight (strictly secret) organized by the American forces stationed in our peninsula. Therefore, I cannot give any logical explanation for this curious phenomenon. At the risk of appearing to be a victim of ridiculous prejudices, I must clarify regarding flying discs that I do not believe much in the theory that these flying vessels are piloted by extraterrestrial beings. I will add that merely witnessing the landing of one of these objects, which the press calls 'flying discs', is not enough to convince me on its own. After all, is it not possible to attribute a more logical meaning to these objects than simply considering them as interplanetary vehicles? The simplest hypotheses must be examined first; it is only after eliminating all of them that we can begin to believe in the existence of these extraterrestrial vehicles. I regret that I cannot provide a more complete account of the event; if I had provided other details than those previously stated, I would have simply lied or invented, which comes to the same thing. Some would have undoubtedly wished for me to 'complete' my account by stating that I saw a strange being emerge from the device and approach me while waving slimy tentacles, its greenish gaze fixed on me. But I did not see anything like that. It is also possible that the press will not hesitate to publish an 'enhanced' version of my initial statements. If you happen to come across different or additional information from what is presented in this account, you might conclude that it is a forgery. I also regret that I cannot provide you with the address of Ms. Maria Ruis Torres in Aluche as I know nothing about this person. I kindly ask again that you do not give my own address to anyone, and, thanking you in advance, I remain at your complete disposal.
