Ummo Letter 923

My dear gentlemen, I am attaching a typed copy of a magnetic tape sent by our friends from Planet Ummo. Although the tape is quite clear and the strange words are sometimes spelled out, I cannot guarantee that I have not overlooked some error. Sometimes one does not quite understand one or the other, and especially in some cases, the distinction between singulars and plurals is not very clear. Thus, in one of them, it is hard to hear whether they say your yie or perhaps your yies. I made sure to consult a dictionary to see the correct spelling of more technical words. In other cases, I was indeed mistaken when they spelled out the word. For instance, I initially heard Mnemica as menica, but it was corrected in the end. I want this letter to serve as a pass to wish you all a happy and prosperous new year, along with the desire that they return to Spain and continue to enchant us with their immense knowledge. I believe you will fully agree with me and my wife, who sends you her congratulations. You cannot imagine how much I wish they would stop asking me to keep my anonymity. When our friends allow it (N.B.: Here respecting the Spanish error), I want to invite you to my house, to share the memories of them and talk about so many things that we could tell you about these wonderful men, as it is difficult to know them as you and my wife and I do and not love them wholeheartedly. What saddens us is simply not having children to pass on the sublime teachings they have given us. One could not recount the hundreds of pages I have written for them. It is true that some were too scientific and philosophical to understand, but many others were very clear. For my wife and me, it is a sadness not being able to confide in anyone or share our experience, which is why knowing that you can understand me is a true pleasure.
