Lettre Ummite#223

Letter Ummo 223

TO FERNANDO SESMA MANZANO MADRID SIR: Today I wish to personally dictate this letter. As far as I am concerned, we have spoken so often on the phone that I do not think I am mistaken in stating that there is a current of mutual affection between us. I am less skilled in Castilian than my brother who is under my orders, but in exchange, my simple will full of cordiality will advantageously compensate for the poverty of my vocabulary. Well, my friend: I was saddened to observe in the tone of your voice a certain bitterness because you think that we have abandoned you due to a minor transgression on your part. No: we are not going to do that. It is certain that out of discipline (THIS HAS NEVER BEEN CONSIDERED A PUNISHMENT) we limit telephone communications as long as you have not proven your goodwill. Already, in the last meeting, we noticed your gesture; you referred less to these experiences. But you are being unfair to us, Sesma. We have not demanded that you stop believing in it; we understand the deep interest you feel for Saliano and for his teachings. We will never back you into a corner, as the expression goes. We have never asked you to show a preference for us, or to stop referring to him. We only ask you to use different days and times when you kindly reference our teachings. Farewell, friend: We never use this parting phrase and I very much wish that you interpret it in the sense of "until tomorrow." I think I will soon be authorized to speak with you and we will try to resume the pleasant debates that forge my deep friendship. I stop dictating to my brother who will clarify ideas that I find difficult to express. DICTATED DEI 98, son of DEI 97. We do not have much left to say to each other, Sesma. We are truly deeply sincere when we tell you that you are one of the few people on your Planet who have courageously accepted, without paying attention to the criticisms of those around you, the version of our identity; and therefore we must feel a real affection for you. That is why your final step of withdrawal saddened us. At first, there were hints from you saying that you were less enthusiastic about this experience. Then your refusal to accept the request we made regarding refraining from mentioning your previous experiences while talking about us. And finally, a doubt expressed in front of everyone concerning our missed meeting with Mr. Gran, to whom we indeed sent a letter since we were unable to get phone contact with him. We acknowledge that this last point was not very important, even if we could interpret it as a symptom of a much colder state of mind toward us. We therefore tried to interpret your wishes, with sadness but also with respect despite your apathy, and we gradually withdrew, thinking that this contact with us no longer interested you. Moreover, we are convinced that you were so chivalrous and discreet that you did not dare to say it openly. Do not interpret this as a sanction, Sesma. That would be gratuitous cruelty toward you. We only await your point of view. We await your noble and open gesture. We do not demand that you break with your friends or that you be caught between two chairs. Moreover, if someone has to give up, it is better to be us before subjecting you to cruel and misplaced spiritual tension. If you have a true affinity for Saliano, for his ideas, for his enigmatic personality, be faithful. Furthermore: do you not believe that this is not an obstacle for us to continue this current of sincere friendship that has arisen between us? Devote the majority of your time to him, devote, if you wish, 100% of the hours you spend with your friends from the Society. We only ask you to indicate to them the days dedicated to these interactions, avoiding any allusion to these experiences. Do not interpret this as disdain toward them, Sesma. The reasons are simple: we want to avoid any confusion. Be sincere, Sesma: have the courage to conduct an anonymous written survey among the group members. At least that will serve you to know what people think and you can then make a decision. Do not forget that we have heard conversations full of criticism toward you because you appeared redundant in your speeches. Also learn to listen; do not forget that many people have difficulty expressing themselves, voicing their point of view aloud. And truly, we affirm to you that it is possible for you to reconcile your affinity toward us and toward the other groups and people. Do not torment your mind thinking otherwise. We solemnly repeat to you, even if you seek identities and interpretations that say otherwise, THAT WE HAVE NO KNOWN CONNECTION WITH SALIANO AND HIS GROUPS. If despite everything, you believe you see in certain numbers, words, or apparent symbols, an occult meaning of affinity, we will respect your judgment WITHOUT SHARING IT AT ALL. Sesma: we will continue to send you reports. There is only one objection: it might be appropriate to TEMPORARILY cease our deliveries since you generally take a rest during the summer period. Speak up so that we can hear it at the next meeting. Also tell us what you plan to do regarding the sharing of days and hours. Meanwhile, you will continue to receive reports. We think that with a little goodwill on your part, we can resume phone communications after our sister's authorization. We are aware that you have nobly fulfilled certain compromises up to now. We realize that your small transgression was almost unintentional and caused by the sincere spiritual affinity that you feel for Saliano and that, in reality, you did not intend to hurt or discredit us. We ask you to return to D. Dionisio Garrido his Photograph, expressing to him, at the risk of repeating ourselves, our most sincere thanks. We have observed in this Gentleman an extraordinary interest towards us. We want to send him some documents on the condition that he sends you copies of them for later reading and distribution if you find it interesting. Do not wait for any authorization to speak, but it is not impossible that at a distant date we could engage in cordial conversations. Finally, we ask you to be understanding regarding the general line of our study. You understand that we cannot summarize certain teachings in a few dozen pages without patient detours to access secondary explanations. We are far from finished. Any elementary book from your Planet is more extensive. We cannot and must not condense ideas that are already summarized. Please, make this understood by the smartest. The others, whatever your efforts, will not understand because they ignore the time necessary to assimilate a true training. Whether to continue or not depends more on you than on US. We never intended to cease sending these reports except to obey the orders of our superior. We must acknowledge that this time we received a more drastic reaction from her. Finally, we do not hide that we are happy to note that she did not take this small fault very seriously; on the contrary, she showed herself very understanding.
